The Council notes that :>>There has been a market in the heart of Liverpool dating back to the 13th Century and the current St John’s Market can trace its history back over 200 years.
Markets form an important part of local economy and the social fabric of a community.
The Council believes that: 1. >> Liverpool should have market in the centre of the city, which residents want to go to. >> The abrupt closure of St. John's market was a mistake, forming a pattern of behaviour by Liverpool City Council which is not helpful to small businesses.
