  • The Council notes that :>>There has been a market in the heart of Liverpool dating back to the 13th Century and the current St John’s Market can trace its history back over 200 years.
  • Markets form an important part of local economy and the social fabric of a community.

  • The Council believes that:     1. >> Liverpool should have           market in the centre of              the city, which residents want to go to.       >> The abrupt closure of  St. John's market was  a mistake, forming a   pattern of behaviour by Liverpool City Council which is not helpful to         small businesses.
